“In Orbit” is an interactive installation that uses the movement and proximity of viewers to trigger generative brushes. The interaction is not one-to-one, instead the viewer notices that they have an influence over the generation of form, but that the brushes themselves also have behaviors of their own. The work explores collaborative authorship between the artist, viewer, and computer through custom software and system design. The colors and forms continue to shift and develop without interaction, eventually fading out after a set interval. The artist believes that resulting images are more captivating than what could be produced with traditional tools and software.
